Jeff Mikan - Lead Member of Technical Staff - Cingular Wireless |
| |
Jeff Mikan is a Lead Member of Technical Staff with Cingular Wireless. He is leading the IMS data Services rollout including the design of first IMS Service. Jeff was they key member of the projects for launching the first Simultaneous Downloadable IM Client in the world and for the first Wireless Village IM Client in the US. Jeff has developed several Client and Server Strategies for Cingular Wireless and is responsible for vendor management for IM Clients and Servers. Jeff has also worked with Synergetic Technologies as a software consultant and with Schlumberger Industries as a Design Engineer. Jeff is a Bachelors of Computer Engineering with High Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology. |

Mr. Shah is a Manager with inCode Telecom Group with more than six years experience working with clients in Europe and North America. His educational background includes a MBA (Fuqua school of business – Duke University), Masters in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunication- Southern Methodist University) and bachelor in Electrical Engineering (Poona University – Pune India).
His skills include proficiency in:
- Next Generation Technologies: Long Term Technical Strategy Development
- Fixed Mobile Convergence: Assisting MNOs, MVNOs, Wireline and MSOs select between UMA/IMS/proprietary solutions to enable convergence, developed and analyzed responses to multiple RFI/RFPs around IMS network elements and applications
- Integrated Service/Product Launch: Service definition, requirements Definition, Product Evaluation, Vendor selection, & define implementation processes for integrated wireless-wireline products
- Network Evolution Plan(NEP): Author/Analyze NEPs for service providers

Mr. Shah developed his expertise in various VoIP, VoCable, SS7 interconnect technologies while working at Cisco Systems and Nortel Networks. He has led number of cross-functional teams and worked closely with product marketing in drafting new product requirements, request for proposals and evaluating vendor responses. His projects with major European/North America service-providers/infrastructure vendors involve developing convergence strategy, market entry strategies, vendor’s marketing messages and technology/vendor selection. |

Jouni is currently a director of an applications business development group called Mobile Solutions for Siemens Networks. Jouni's team is responsible for US market strategy for applications turning ideas into concepts and commercial products for Mobile and Fixed operators. He has been working closely with Siemens IMS product line for more than 3 years and comes from a telecom and IT background with prior work history with Compaq and Logica. |

| Ronald R. Hutchins is Associate Vice Provost for Research and Technology and Chief Technology Officer, Office of Information Technology, at Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science at Georgia Southern College. His current fields of interest and development are center on computer networking, but are divided into four primary facets: production network management; educational collaboration technologies; high-speed large-scale network design and management; and mobile and nomadic computing. |

| Rob's experience has been primarily around the business cases for Fixed Mobile Convergence types of offerings such as dual mode (cellular/WiFi) phones. He has also evaluated the market for IMS applications for several carriers, network infrastructure OEMs, and Mobile Device OEMs. Recently Rob co-authored a book with Tyson McCauley of Bell Canada on the topic of Security for Converged IP Networks. |

Scott Swanburg – Senior Manager - Data Services Marketing, Cingular Wireless LLC |

Mr. Swanburg is a 25-year veteran of technology. He spent the first 11 years of his career at TRW where he was awarded a Special Commendation by the Under Secretary of State for VHSIC Technology Enhancements in 1985. He has also held management positions at Nortel Networks where he led a team of engineers who produced the first Frequency Modulation Internet Protocol Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) system. Awarded a patent for a unique design in RF PCS antennas at Electromagnetic Sciences he also has several other patents pending related to Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystems (IMS). Most recently Mr. Swanburg has been involved with the implementation of IMS related applications development for Cingular Wireless, the largest wireless communications company in North America. He has been a guest speaker at the Georgia Institute of Technology and media events such as the Residential Broadband Conference and Broadband Asia-Pacific, 2000. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering emphasis, with honors. |

Michael Cummins - CTO - Dupreee College of Management at Georgia Tech |
| |
J. Michael Cummins joined the faculty of the Dupree College of Management at Georgia Tech in July, 2001. He is teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in information technology management and is the Chief Technology Officer for the College. He also serves on the advisory board of several new venture technology companies.
Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Cummins was the Chief Marketing Officer at Equifax Inc. He developed an internet business strategy for this leading Fortune 500 information company, and created an internal incubator focused on product innovation and development. He also had general management responsibility for the $25m Consumer Information Services Business unit, which provides credit information products and services direct to consumers over the internet.
Prior to joining Equifax, Dr. Cummins was Director and Chief Executive Officer, Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology (GCATT) and a member of the faculty at Georgia Tech from1996-1999. Before that, he was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and a member of the marketing faculty at Emory University’s School of Business (1993-1996). From 1987 to 1993, Dr. Cummins served as the Associate Dean for External Relations and Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems, University of Miami School of Business.
His earlier career included a range of experiences spanning the three sectors of academia, business, and government. These included: a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Economics at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business; serving as the Director of Strategic Planning for the international telecommunications satellite consortium, INTELSAT; and leading a deregulation policy initiative in international telecommunications while Director of the International Facilities Planning Division at the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC.
Dr. Cummins received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), and his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Northwestern University. |

| Jim Grams is the Chief Technology Officer for Azaire Networks, and has 25 years experience in software, networks, and technology development and executive management, including 10 years of wireless voice and data evangelism. Before joining Azaire, Jim, was Senior Vice President and CTO for Multimedia Services at Cingular Wireless where he focused on the identification and evaluation of emerging technologies for a new generation of services that capitalize on modern mobility networks, such as GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, WiFi, HSDPA and Wideband CDMA. He has a Masters of Science in Computer and Information Sciences from The Ohio State University and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of Vermont. |

| Ramon currently works as Technical Solutions Consultant (TSC) for Siemens Mobile Solutions group. Ramon has been working for Siemens Networks US as TSC in the IMS and IMS enabler area since 2004. Before that Ramon worked in Europe as Product Engineer for the mobile operators O2 and Telefonica and was responsible for the design of several services like O2 Germany's first UMTS Simcard, UMTS National Roaming as well as WAP and Java download. Ramon holds a Ph.D.-Degree on Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Ulm in Germany and an M.Sc. Degree on Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain. |

Peter Naleszkiewic - Director of Sales, Mobile Applications, Siemens Networks LLC |
| |
Peter is the Director Sales / Account Manager responsible for Mobile Applications at Siemens’ Cingular Account here in Atlanta. He was central in setting up the IMS Research Competition project and continues to be involved as the lead for potentially commercializing the winning applications for Cingular. He also was the Project Manager for the Cingular-Siemens IMS trial in 2004, among other efforts. Peter’s background includes Senior Product Management positions at several communications companies, including Sprint’s Data Services division. In the mid 90’s, Peter was the lead senior manager for Bell Atlantic’s Tech Scan Project, which was designed to project which technologies would cause market sea changes in the near future. Prior to that, Peter was President, founder, and chief developer for a small PC software development and Marketing firm, Progressive Computer Applications Inc.
